Home Remodeling: Part 2

After we get around to finishing the bathroom, we will start on the living room/kitchen. We have an open floor plan so we will do them both at the same time. This is going to be a major project. We have 12 foot vaulted ceilings, of which needs re-taped and mudded. We have to paint, put down tile in the kitchen, and redecorate (my favorite!). We also want to find an insert for our fire place. Alright, on to the pictures...

We have actually already started and almost finished this project. I will post about it later. I am in love with my table though! I love the look of hydrangeas in a vase. So simple yet so amazing.

I don't think Jake is going to let me paint our front door blue, but isn't that just beautiful? A girl can dream...

Home Remodeling: Part 1

It has been about 6 months since we moved into our new home. Since then we have been doing small projects here and there. Right now, all of our time and money is focused on the chicken coop. Once it is finished, I want to start on our master bathroom. We plan on painting, putting down tile, putting in new counter tops, new sinks and a new toilet. I wanted to put all of my ideas on here so they are all in one location. That way I can stay focused! So here are a few of the ideas I want to see come to life...

Chocolate brown walls from here. Clean looking counter tops, and a framed mirror.

Shelf and towel rack behind the tub found here. shelves behind the toilet, and for that weird place behind the bathroom door: more shelves! You can never have too much storage. Glass tile around the sink.

We eventually plan on making over the whole house, but we have forever to get it done. I have to pace myself, so I don't become overwhelmed. I will share all my ideas (thanks to pinterest) soon.

He's gone country!

My husband is a total city boy, but I think I am turning him country. Since we moved out of the city, we decided to do a garden. We have planted tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, corn, peas, and squash. I am excited to see how it does. I am also excited to see how happy my husband is over this. Never in a million years would I have expected to see Jake tilling up the ground. He actually enjoys it too!

He also surprised me when he jumped on the chicken bandwagon. We visited our friends in Mississippi back in February. They had about 5 chickens in their backyard at the time. Jake tried a fresh fried egg and loved it. What really made him want chickens? He witnessed a rooster catch and kill a mouse. Yeah...he is such a guy. So we went and got chicks at the local co-op. Then I found more I wanted a week later.

Yep, that's right, thirteen chickens. Where are these guys going to live? In the Perry Palace, of course!

It's not finished yet, but by the time the chicks are able to move in, it will be. I am so pumped about this coop. We got our inspiration from here.
I can't wait!
